【日々のこと】十字の久留米絣、仕込み中。/ we arrange for KURUME ikat of cross pattern

大分寒くなってきました。今日は久留米絣の工房へ来年の生地の仕込みに関する打ち合わせに行ってきました。写真の糸は何かわかるでしょうか？そうです絣糸です。久留米絣は糸をくくって、それを織り込み柄を作っていくという伝統的な織物です。今年はこの十字の模様のもんぺが思ったより好評で5月の末の時点で在庫がかなり減ってしまい、欲しいという方に迷惑をかけてしまいました。

It is getting colder. I went to factory of KURUME-KASURI（ikat）about arrange for MONPE’s fabric for next year. Do you know about photo’s thread? This is KUKURI thread what tied up and dyed. KASURI is traditionl textile and weaved these thread.made by complex technique. Photo’s thread will be cross pattern fabric,and I make the MONPE used this design.It is popularity. This year,it is sold out beyond our expections and I’m sorry for want to buy this design’s MONPE.

来年は、結構たくさん布を仕込んでいます。おそらく足りないということはないだろうと思います。そして、もし足りない時のために、布を再度仕込むスケジュールまで計画しています。去年は僕の準備不足でした。来年は計画モリモリ盛りだくさんです。楽しみにお待ちあれ！

さて、その来年の仕込みと同時に久留米絣の柄や織りの見本帳のようなものを作成しています。今日はその生地もたくさん仕入れをしました。小売りをするという訳ではないのですが、今から生地の質感、柄、素材の組み合わせを追求して、あらゆる可能性をさぐっていきたいと思います。
